Job description: Responsibilities

  • Oversee the bill administration process for existing utility accounts ensuring consumption & cost data are tracked accurately for the purposes of energy management and reporting.
  • Act as the primary contact between CBRE & utility companies
  • Maintain & update energy dashboards using Tableau
  • Assist with ongoing monthly reporting requirements of the Energy Analytics team.
  • Develop new and maintain existing reports and handle data requests from internal and external stakeholders (examples of reports include utility consumption in common units and ekWh, annual Greenhouse Gas accounting, and portfolio benchmarking).
  • Assist in the development of utility budgets and explain financial variances.
  • Assist with preparation of material & presentation of monthly energy analytics to the regional building teams.
  • Assist with Ontario government’s ICIP (Class A) program.
  • Support training initiatives for internal and external clients
  • Engagement with building tenants via sustainability events and newsletters as required.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects & client request.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in finance, engineering, mathematics, science or related fields
  • Advanced Excel skills – experience with formulas and pivot tables
  • Knowledge & experience of Tableau & Tableau Prep Builder.
  • Energy and Sustainability experience (academic, professional/volunteer experience)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic understanding of relation databases and SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility experience is an asset – worked at a utility, energy market regulator, or energy consultant company
  • Familiarity with utility invoices (e.g. power factor, energy rate classes, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Energy Star Portfolio Manager, International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) Framework, and either LEED or boma BEST
  • Accounting experience – knowledge of accruals, budget/reforecast, and variance analysis
  • Experience with Tableau Prep Conductor or Power Query
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop or Microsoft PowerBI
  • Programming experience with Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint
